Immigration is an issue for many countries. Most would agree that government is responsible for handling immigration, so it is an appropriate topic for this discussion.

Who should be able to enter a country? How should naturalization be set up for immigrants? Remember to give your reasoning.

Archon Basileus, you are quite imaginative and diligent in providing these topics.  Thank you.

WE do not always wish to ask for more data in order to process a response, still there are a lot of possible variables.  For the purpose of the discussion, WE propose an environment like a country in western Europe or, perhaps, the U.S.A.

First, those that WE would deny immigration to are:  persons known to have been terrorists and/or habitual criminals, persons with chronic and communicable diseases.

Next, WE would require that the potential immigrant be sponsored by an employer, or a family of at least two citizens, with a limitation on how many persons they can sponsor until the immigrant becomes a full citizen.

WE might be willing to provide immigrants without sponsors or those seeking asylum to earn citizenship by service in a branch of the military, not necessarily in combat jobs, or in public service.

Perhaps there are other cases in which WE might admit new immigrants.

My nation readily accepts immigrants, as long as they are here legally. I can't stand illegal immigrants.

Is there a program designed for the education and assimilation of immigrants to your country, of do you hold to an evolution of your population by new elements?

Where do the immigrant's cultural customs end and your country's expectation of a society begin?

WE enjoy the idea of a "melting pot", however, there are always some impurities, or slag, that cannot be used when forging a national identity (such as physical mutilation of women and other customs that would be considered criminal).
